About

Rosemarie is the name of my unusual grandmother, who spent her contemplative twilight years surrounded by books and her artwork in this flat in the Wilhelmstadt neighbourhood of Berlin Spandau. As a granddaughter, I was very impressed by her aesthetic style of furnishing, which is both airy and inviting. When I inherited her flat, which I now maintain and rent out together with my life partner Jan, it was important to me to preserve this atmosphere as much as possible. For this reason, we want tenants inside who, like us, are attracted by this cosy style with books and pictures and do not need a luxury renovation to feel comfortable. In addition, we offer very fast internet (high-speed DSL: download up to 250 Mbit/s & upload up to 40 Mbit/s, as well as Smart-TV with 152 channels) and a cordial, problem-solving willingness to communicate in German, English and Spanish. If you are looking for a place in Berlin where you can concentrate on your work and then peacefully enjoy your evening at home or along the extensive Havel promenade, you will also feel at home in the neighbourhood. Despite the tranquillity due to the elderly neighbours and the park-like property with old trees, which borders on a small branch of the Havel (you can watch ducks and herons from the balcony), the lively side of the Wilhelmstadt neighbourhood is only a few minutes' walk away: If you don't need one hip shop after the other, you will be greeted along Pichelsdorfer Straße with a quaint West Berlin charm of the 90s and find all the shopping options for your daily needs (supermarket, Asian shop, greengrocer, drugstore, pharmacy, household goods shop, post office) between shisha shops, snack bars, restaurants, exquisite shops and long-established pubs - of course, our neighbourhood also keeps up with the times in culinary terms and Jan and I are happy to provide insider tips. If you are travelling to the vibrant city of Berlin by public transport for work or the weekend, you can find numerous buses within a five-minute walk. After two bus stops, you are at Rathaus Spandau (S+U) and Berlin Spandau train station (also for shopping in the Spandau Arcaden). Long-distance trains and regional trains leave from there, so that despite the peripheral location, you can be more mobile than in more central parts of Berlin: It takes 10 minutes to Zoologischer Garten station by regional express, 20 minutes by S-Bahn, 15 or 30 minutes to the main station, and 40 or 50 minutes to Alexanderplatz. The U7 from Rathaus Spandau (S+U) takes 26 minutes to Siemensstadt and the S-Bahn takes 60 minutes to Potsdam Babelsberg. The S-Bahn S9 runs directly from Berlin Spandau to BER Airport - Terminal 1-2 in 80 minutes and to Terminal 5 in 70 minutes. By car, the B2, which runs through Wilhelmstadt, takes you eastwards to Messedamm and the A100 city motorway (and the Avus A115) in 15 minutes and to the Brandenburg Gate in 36 minutes. Heading south on the B2, it takes 35 minutes to Potsdam Sanssauci Palace and into the historical city centre. P.S.
