From the apartment in 5-10 minutes walk you reach the historic Nikolaiviertel and Alexanderplatz (2 stops by subway). The stations Maerkisches Museum, Heinrich-Heine-Strasse and Jannowitzbruecke giving access to five major subway and train lines can be reached in short walks. Boat trips through Berlin can be taken from the nearby riverbank. Despite its very central location the neighborhood is quiet and peaceful.
