This studio is part of a high-rise apartment building erected during DDR times as a place for high-level officials and privileged intellectuals. Now, it suddenly found itself in the center of the vivid new Berlin-Mitte. We designed the studio by blending a bit of East German design (see the ceiling light "Sputnik", for example) with current design from Berlin and Scandinavia. The photograph shows a famous event taking place in East Berlin in the Seventies. The walls display raw concrete, and the floor has a beautiful naturally-oiled parquet. We hope you'll like it! This studio in the middle of Berlin-Mitte, 100m away from Hackescher Markt, 300m from Museum Island, Humboldt University and close to a myriad of attractions like the TV tower, galeries, boutiques, cafes, clubs and bars, and many more. If you want to be in the very center of the new energetic part of Berlin with places such as top-notch galeries, cutting edge restaurants, start-ups, cool clubs, you can't be better located. You see from the pictures that the apartment has a great view over Berlin (it is located on the 14th floor). You can oversee a large part of Berlin-Mitte, Prenzlauer Berg and look as far as to the boundaries of Berlin with its occasional wind turbines. There is a regular-sized single bed (1,0 x 2,0 m). Cooking facilities are provided. Wifi is included (free). We provide a hairdryer. Public transport: S-Bahn (Hackescher Markt) in front of the door. Alexanderplatz (several subway and S-Bahn lines) just a 5min walk away) Organic markets, traditional supermarkets, plenty of take-aways, McDonalds, Starbucks, ... are within a few footsteps. Because of its ground plan this building is called "The Windmill". It is the highest residential building in Berlin. In former times, when the GDR still existed, just privileged people, which were conform with the political system were allowed to live here. Meanwhile, the residential structure changed a lot, and you will find among these old guys, Mitte-hipsters, families and people from all over the world. The apartment is located on the 14th floor and you will have a unspoiled and terrific view over Mitte, Prenzlauer Berg and to the TV-Tower (Fernsehturm). Apartment: + concrete look, hardwood floor (real parquet) + 25 qm (270 sqft) + full bed 160 cm / queen size bed (63 x 79 in) / with one mattress + bathroom with shower and hairdryer + mini kitchen with fridge, duo cooktop, dishes & cooking utensils and a manual Bialetti espresso macchinetta + the unit contains 2 separate apartments with almost the same style and size + free wlan (no device restriction) + set of linen & towels if you like Location/ Sightseeing: Located in the middle of the triangle between Museum Island, Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt which are all less than one minute walking distance. Close by is Unter den Linden with Brandenburger Tor, Checkpoint Charly and Friedrichstrasse, Humboldt University, Staatsoper, Rotes Rathaus, East Side Gallery, the art district around Auguststrasse, Sea Life and The Dungeon. At Museum Island you can do boat roundtrips, too. Public transport: Several Bus, S-Bahn and Tram Lines meet around Hackescher Markt and Alexanderplatz, so you can easily go to almost every spot in Berlin you like on a direct line. Right at our front door are several bike rentals.
