Berlin has a fame of "cool city", "city of freedom", "exceptional city, which deserves undivided attention". It´s not that sophisticated as Paris and not so posh as London, but the city also has its "golden miles". And as the flat is located in the heart of the most prestigious and magnificent district of Berlin, near Brandenburg Gate and House of Parliament, Potsdamer Platz and Government district, I decided to create a flat, which would correspond to the high level of surrounding. It has a special target audience: it´s relatively expensive accomodation (if we take into account the price level in Berlin) for the travellers, who are convinced, that 4 walls are far not enough for the comfortable stay. Business travellers, couples, families with kids and just travellers, who are tired of uncleaned and ugly rooms, are welcome here! It´s a place for those of you who is ready to pay for: + the best location in the heart of Berlin near the main square + cleanliness + unique design & unrepeatable ambiente + quietness The flat it is located in a pretty old house (60 years old) in the heart of Berlin. It was constructed in the 50-s, just after the war, when the locals, who just lost their city (Berlin was badly destroyed during the war) were inspired by new ideas and technological solutions, investigation of space and other symbols of "new era". The only problem was the amount of homeless people on the streets, who lost their houses. To overcome the consequences of city destruction, it was decided to build as quick and high as possible, not really carrying about the "appearance" of new buildings right in the heart of the city. So our house itself is actually ugly (let´s say the truth), but even being "a beast" it has its "beauty" - perfect location :) Almost everything, what is in the house inside, was modernized and brought to up-to-date standards. This doesn´t include air conditioning. And that´s a big pity! So please, take it into account, if you visit us in summer! I was trying to create something really cool & extraordinary here, not just a flat, where I would live, but a place with its own unrepeatable charm, which can impress and cause nice recollections... The flat has the total square of 62 m2 and consists of 1 x bedroom, 1 x living-room with a kitchen zone, 1 x bathroom and 1 x corridor. It has everything what a nice flat in the center should have: historical building, nice design and responsible owner. Inspite of my respect to more than 60 years of history, I didn´t leave any traces of the age of this place. The idea was to transform this space as dramatically as possible and create an unforgettable ambiente, which would correspond to the level of 4* hotel without service... In the BEDROOM you´ll find a usual size doublebed (full size; 140 x 200 cm), a nice wardrobe to hang clothes, a couple of night tables and a little cosmetic table. As the floors are covered with PVC, I put as many carpets as it´s possible - don´t care about cold feet. The room is designed in black&white colours and is a wonderful place to relax after a day in the city. I tried to implement the concept of bedroom for a little princess (at least how I understand it), that´s why you´ll find a lot of ballet details, decorative vases, symbols of femininity etc. The LIVING ROOM was planed to be a place for chilling and dining. It consists of two zones: the kitchen and the living zones. The kitchen zone is equipped with a new built-in modern kitchen with all the neccessary things for cooking: fridge with freezer, stove, dishwasher etc. It should be pointed out, that the kitchen is absolutely suitable for the real coocking (maybe not backing cakes or roasting turkey): there´s also a Nespresso coffee-mashine, a cattle and a toaster. I also put a lot of different cups and glasses, cuttlery, pans and sauce pans. So if cooking is of great value to you, it should be your place :) The living zone is determined by the ensemble of 3 furniture pieces: white couch and 2 armchairs. The armchairs are special: they can be pulled out and if I have 3 or 4 guests in the apt, I transform the armchairs into 2 separate single beds, put the real high quality mattress on it and most people absolutely forget, that they basically sleep on an armchair. The BATHROOM is actually also very nice. I understand how important it is to have a clean and fresh bathroom, that´s why I rebuilt it completely. So the square of the bathroom is quite limited and besides WC itself, there´s only a shower cabin and a wash-basin here. There´s also a washing mashine at your disposal, which is placed in the bathroom.
